Portugal have proposed a 2026 World Cup warmup against the Super Eagles in June.
Reports have suggested that the Super Eagles have attracted interests from several World Cup qualifiers like Portugal after they shone at the recently concluded AFCON in Morocco.
The proposed friendly is scheduled for June 6 with the venue likely to be Lisbon.
It is understood that the football federations of both Portugal and Nigeria have agreed on this friendly in principle with details to soon be finalised.
Portugal know only two of their World Cup first round foes – Colombia and Uzbekistan – and could likely draw DR Congo should the Leopards advance from the Intercontinental Playoffs in March.
In November 2022, the Super Eagles fell 4-0 to Portugal in a preparatory match to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
