SCORENigeria can specially report that police have arrested two men alleged to have stolen jewelry worth over 280 million Naira belonging to former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins.
The men worked at Martins’ Lekki Lagos home as security men.
They allegedly made away with the jewelry, which included several expensive watches, and sold them on for six million Naira.
They were nabbed by police outside Lagos State.
The police have refused to reveal the identity of the person whose jewelry was stolen, but SCORENigeria has since learnt it is the flamboyant Martins.
The former Newcastle United and Inter Milan striker is on the look-out for a new club after he was released by Chinese Super League club Shaghai Shensua following a long-term injury.
He has insisted he still has a few more years left of a career that has seen him play in the Premier League in England, La Liga, MLS, Serie A, Bundesliga as well as the Russian league.
