Super Eagles dominated Lesotho from start to finish and it was only bad luck that caused them to draw 1-1 with the Southern African team today, according to coach Jose Peseiro.

Peseiro said in a post-match interview: “I am sad of course, disappointed by the result, but my team tried to do the maximum.
“We had 76% of the ball possession against 24% (by Lesotho), the opponents only had two chances to score and scored a goal.
“We had many chances to score. It was bad luck.
It was so against Guinea Bissau (2023 AFCON qualifier 1-0 loss in Abuja) and I said I will qualify the team and I did. That’s the same now.”
On Wednesday, Rwanda were held to a scoreless draw by Zimbabwe in the opening game of Group C of the World Cup qualifiers, before Nigeria recorded a 1-1 draw with Lesotho today.
South Africa and Benin will play the third game in this group Saturday in Durban.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will fly out tomorrow night on a chartered flight from Uyo to Rwanda, where they will take on Zimbabwe in another World Cup qualifier Sunday.
