Coach Jose Peseiro has stressed that Sunday’s AFCON Group A clash against Equatorial Guinea is Super Eagles main focus as his team trained for the first time in Cote d’Ivoire tonight.
“Equatorial Guinea did better than us at the last AFCON,” Peseiro said.
“They are a good team, but we want to win.
“We have to be focused 100%.”
The Super Eagles have wasted little time to getting to work in Abidjan after their arrival in the afternoon today from Lagos.
All 23 players in Cote d’Ivoire worked out under floodlights Wednesday night.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Terem Moffi will arrive later in the week with both not expected to be involved in Sunday’s opening group game.
Peseiro disclosed that Leicester City medical staff have been co-operating with their Super Eagles counterparts and as such Iheanacho will join full training immediately on arrival.
