Jose Peseiro has said he will not talk about his future as Super Eagles coach, but would rather take some time off to rest.
Peseiro’s contract with Nigeria ended with the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, where the Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 in the final by the host country.
He also surpassed the semifinal target set for him by the NFF.
“I am tired, I just want to rest after the emotions, tension and pressures of the AFCON,” the Portuguese coach said.
He has already been linked with various coaching posts across Africa.
Next month, the Super Eagles are slated to play a high-profile friendly against world champions Argentina.
In June, they will then welcome South Africa to Uyo before a tricky trip away to Benin Republic in continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
