Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has disclosed both Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze will miss 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe due to injury.
Both Osimhen and Chukwueze suffered hamstring injuries on international duty last month and yet to return to action for their respective Serie A clubs.
Their availability has been in doubt since their injuries.
Peseiro said he will not risk the players for the qualifying matches against Lesotho on November 16 in Uyo and four days later in Rawanda against Zimbabwe.
“Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen will not be called up during the next break, we want to avaoid any risks,” he told TV Play.
“I am very sorry for their injuries, the clubs pay the players and we constantly collaborate with them.”
