Amid reports of a quick exit from the Premier League, Crystal Palace manager has asked Chrisantus Uche to do a lot more if he wanted to get more game time.
Uche has only made a handful of appearances for Palace since his arrival from La Liga club Getafe this past summer.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has now opened up on his conversation with the Super Eagles forward.
“I told him ‘You arrived on deadline day without pre-season to a team that was at that time 19 games unbeaten, so you can’t expect to be starter immediately,” he revealed.
“You have to show you deserve it and that you are better than the other player, then you can play.”
Uche has had to battle Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino and Daichi Kamada for the No 10 role in Glasner’s 3-4-2 formation, while he has to contend with Jean-Phillippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah for the strikers’ positions.
