A report that Victor Osimhen is waiting on Premier League clubs Manchester United or Arsenal and that he will no longer be joining Napoli has been dismissed as “a big lie”, according to one of his representatives.
Osita Okolo, who has been variously quoted in stories around Osimhen’s transfer lately, has denied there is any truth that the Lille striker would rather wait on United or Arsenal than to move to Italy.
Osimhen is not waiting for calls from English clubs. The thing about the Premier League is a huge lie,” Okolo told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“It is his own decision based on personal and professional reasons.
“Today, a meeting will be held with his representatives and soon a decision will be made.”
Osimhen’s future destination has recently been riddled with denials.
Last month, the player himself said he had not agreed a transfer to Napoli.
However, he and his representatives travelled out to Naples last week to meet with Napoli officials.
The Lille president as well as Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr have all backed a transfer to Napoli by the striker.
