Turkey national team coach Vincenzo Montella has said the transfer of top quality players like Victor Osimhen can only be good for football in that country.
Osimhen has joined Galatasaray on a record-breaking transfer from Napoli after long-drawn negotiations.
“It’s certainly encouraging to see players of this quality arrive,” remarked Montella, who himself is Italian.
“As a young player who is already at international level, he can pave the way for other talents who want to join Turkish clubs.”
He also commended Osimhen’s determination to join the Turkish champions despite the many odds.
“He has shown great determination in wanting to play here, battling with Napoli for a transfer,” he said.
