Juventus will play away tonight at Galatasaray with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen up against the top Italian club in this UEFA Champions League Playoffs.
However, Osimhen himself has revealed he could well have been playing for Juventus tonight instead of Galatasaray.
“Before negotiations with Galatasaray began, Giuntoli (then sports director of Juventus) called me to bring me to Juve,” he revealed in an interview leading up to tonight’s showdown.
“I spoke to a few people at the club and they showed interest, but I knew he (De Laurentiis, whom Osimhen didn’t mention) wouldn’t let me go.
“In any case, there was definitely interest. And when Juve calls you, you have to sit down and listen, no matter what.”
Juventus have now been reported to have renewed interest to sign the striker in the coming summer.
