Victor Osimhen will miss Tuesday’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifier in South Africa after he suffered a shin injury in the match against Rwanda.
He did not travel with the team to South Africa today and will return immediately to his club in Turkey, officials said.
Osimhen was forced out of the Rwanda in the 33rd minute in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Coach Eric Chelle said the injury would be assessed today.
Wolves new signing Tolu Arokodare, who grabbed the match winner against Rwanda, is most likely to replace the injured Osimhen in the Super Eagles starting XI in Bloemfontein.
