The Super Eagles star striker opened up that he hawked pure water and Gala in Lagos ‘go-slow’ traffic, cleaned slimy gutters for a token all in an effort to make ends meet around one of the biggest dump sites of Olusosun.
In a candid interview with Daddy Freeze on YouTube, Osimhen narrated how tough it was as the last child of a family on nine that lived in a one-room apartment.
He said he had to drop out of Senior Secondary School 3 to do menial jobs to support his family.
It was so tough that at a point in time he stayed away from football for two years.
“I was condemned to make it,” he concluded, explaining that this tough childhood instilled the champion-mentality that has now made him one of the most sought after strikers in world football with a Transfermarkt valuation of 70 Million Euros.
He said his breakthrough in life was playing for the Golden Eaglets and winning the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile with coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
