The Super Eagles striker hit target in the 38th minute, when he was released inside the box and he coolly slipped the ball home.
Osimhen had gone four games without a goal before tonight.
The fans shouted Osimhen’s name in appreciation during the match and he received a big cheer from the crowd when he was replaced in the 63rd minute.
Over the night, controversy broke when Napoli official TikTok account posted an uncomplimentary video of Osimhen missing a penalty at Bologna.
This was after the same account compared his bleached hair with a coconut.
The striker’s agent has threatened legal action against Napoli, while the player himself has deleted all Napoli-related stories on his Instagram handle.
Napoli have since deleted the offensive posts, but are yet to make an official statement on the incident.
The 4-1 home win over Udinese was only their third victory of the new season.
The Serie A champions have now climbed to fifth in the standings with 11 points from six matches.
