Asisat Oshoala was tonight a proud winner of the UEFA Women’s Champions League after Barcelona trounced Chelsea 4-0 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This was the Spanish champions’ first Champions League conquest.
Two years ago, they were thrashed 4-1 by Lyon in the competition’s Final with Oshoala grabbing her team’s consolation goal.
She did not start tonight after she was barely declared fit by the team doctors today following an ankle problem.
Rather she was thrown into the fray in the 71st minute in place of Jenni Harmoso.
She had a goal in stoppage time disallowed.
In a recent interview, she applauded her decision to move to the Spanish club after stints in England and China.
