Asisat Oshoala has promised the Super Falcons will give everything to win today’s game against Korea so as to stay in contention for a place in the knockout rounds of the Women’s World Cup in France.
Kick-off time today in Grenoble is 2 pm in Nigeria.
Nigeria fell 3-0 to Norway in their opening game of the tournament, while Korea were battered 4-0 by hosts France.
“Everyone just keep being yourself. Put in more effort. Stay concentrated on the pitch, it has to be 100 per cent on the pitch,” declared the 24-year-old Oshoala, who recently sealed a permanent transfer to Barcelona.
“We lost concentration and that cost us the game against Norway.”
The Norway loss has meant that the Falcons have now gone 273 minutes without a goal at the World Cup.
Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby said his team will use their power and speed to end a miserable run at the World Cup.
“We will use our power and speed to win,” he said.
“But we also respect Korea because they are a skillful team with some quick players.”
In the meantime, experienced defender Faith Michael has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament after she was injured against Norway at the weekend.
The Falcons final group game will be on Monday against hosts France.
