Asisat Oshoala has remained on track for a record-extending sixth CAF Player of the Year Award after she was nominated along with six other Super Falcons stars for the 2023 top prize.

The Barcelona Femeni star has won this continental top individual prize in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
Oshoala won her second UEFA Champions League with her Spanish club as well as the treble with them.
The 29-year-old forward featured at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where Nigeria reached the Round of 16 against most expectations.
Fellow Super Falcons stars Chiamaka Nnadozie, Toni Payne, Christy Ucheibe, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade and Uchenna Kanu also made the long list of nominees.
Esther Ajakaye, Deborah Abiodun and Oluwatosin Demehin have been nominated for the Young Player Award, coach Randy Waldrum is in contention for the Coach of the Year, while the Super Falcons will battle South Africa and Morocco for the Team of the Year.
The awards ceremony is slated for December 11 in Marrakech, Morocco.
