It will be either Bright Osayi-Samuel or Bruno Onyemaechi, who will replace injured Zaidu Sanusu in today’s AFCON semifinal against South Africa, SCORENigeria has learnt.
Osayi-Samuel has already done this in the final Group A match against Guinea Bissau, when he played at right back and Ola Aina moved to left back.
The winger-turned-defender was also a late sub against Equatorial Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon.
Onyemaechi, who has long been tipped to cement his place in the Super Eagles first team, has yet to play a minute at this tournament.
In the handful of appearances he has made for the Super Eagles, he has been decent, but SCORENigeria has since learnt that coach Jose Peseiro, who first capped him, has not been impressed with his defending.
It was further gathered that the coach picked holes in the marking of the left-sided Boavista defender.
