Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka has said he cannot wait to make his AFCON debut in Cameroon.
Onyeka is one of only three defensive midfielders named on a final 28-man squad for the AFCON, which kicks off on January 9.
“Yes, it is my first time you know representing my country in the Africa Cup of Nations, so I’m looking forward to it, and I’m excited to represent my country,” said Onyeka.
The former FC Midtjylland star made his Eagles debut in a friendly against Algeria in October 2020.
He is one of several call-ups who could debut at the AFCON.
‘The Tank’ will be released for the Eagles training camp in Abuja after tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been a valuable addition to promoted Brentford this season.
He has so far started 10 of his 18 appearances as Brentford continue to punch above their weight in the English top league.
