The coach of Paul Onuachu at Trabzonspor quit his post on television after the Turkish team crashed out of the UEFA Europa League.
Coach Fatih Tekke announced his resignation before the TV cameras after Trabzonspor complete with star signing Mohamed Salah were trounced 4-0 by Ferencvaros of Hungary to miss out on the group stage of the Europa League 5-0 on aggregate.
“I am resigning from this honourable mission. I cannot accept this loss. You can accept bad luck, but not this. I cannot sleep with this,” a disappointed Tekke said.
However, Trabzonspor later said in a statement that his resignation was not accepted and he will be in charge of the team for a Super Lig match at promoted Amedspor Monday.
