It is the first time since 2003 that a player accounted for four goals in a game for Genk.
Onuachu has thus shot to the top of the goal scorers’ chart with 12 goals this season.
He was Goal King two seasons ago with 33 goals, while last season he netted 21 goals.
Genk won 4-1 with Onuachu opening scoring in the ninth minute from the penalty spot.
The giant striker, 28, was also on target in the 35th, 71st and 90th minutes.
Genk now have 43 points from 16 matches, while second-placed Antwerp are on 33 points with a game in hand.
