Paul Onuachu return to Genk has suffered a major setback as Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil is not keen on move in the opposite direction to English club Southampton.
Genk sold all-time top scorer Onuachu to Southampton for 18 Million Euros in January, but the transfer did not go to plan.
Onuachu is open to a return to the Belgian club and one of the ways around this was for Paintsil to move to Southampton as part of this transaction.
Reports have suggested that Southampton are monitoring the Ghana international and could make an eight Million Pounds bid.
Paintsil, on the other hand, has maintained he is fully committed to Genk.
“I speak absolutely the truth. I am focused on Genk and this match (vs Olympiacos, UEFA Europa League qualifier). I like being here and I have another three years under contract here,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws
