Paul Onuachu has scored five goals in the last five games to stay on course for a new goals record at KRC Genk.
The big striker has now equaled Ally Samatta, Branko Strupar and Nikolaos Karelis, who also scored five times in a row for KRC Genk.
Should Onuachu also score at home against KAA Gent on Monday, he will only have the record of Jelle Vossen to beat.
The 2010-2011 season was a dream campaign for Vossen – Genk landed the championship and Vossen himself scored in no less than nine straight league games.
In total he scored 17 goals in that season.
Onuachu is now the leading scorer in the league with eight goals, just a goal shy of the nine he scored last season.
He has been tipped to finish as top scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League this season.
