Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers were on target tonight for the Super Eagles to hold Algeria ‘B’ team to a 2-2 draw in a test game in Constantine.
Algeria went ahead through Karim Aribi in the 33rd minute, before the Eagles drew level in the second half, when the home team changed their entire starting XI.
Substitute Iwobi underlined the form that has seen been nominated for the Player of the Month for September in the Premier League with a goal.
Another sub, Dessers, scored his first-ever goal for the Super Eagles.
Aymen Mahious scored Algeria’s second goal.
Uncapped defensive midfielder Raphael Onyedika started for the Eagles, so too Rivers United defender Ebube Duru.
Casa Pia of Portugal forward Saviour Godwin and Adeleye Adebayo also featured with Israel-based goalkeeper Adebayo unable to keep out a penalty against the Eagles in the second half.
Algeria CHAN are preparing for next year’s CHAN, which they will host in January 2023.
This result must be a big boost to their confidence.
The Eagles will next play against Algeria’s main team on Tuesday night in Oran.
