Kenneth Omeruo did not see action as Leganes chances of a quick return to La Liga suffered a major setback following a 3-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano in a promotion playoffs semifinal first leg clash.
Omeruo was an unused sub in Thursday night’s clash.
Leganes finished third in the regular season, while Rayo placed sixth.
The return leg in Madrid will be played Sunday with the overall winners squaring up against the winners of the other semifinal between Girona and Almeria.
Sadiq Umar and Almeria also fell 3-0 at Girona and will hope to overturn this deficit tomorrow to stay on course for a return to the Spanish top league.
