Super Falcons goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi has said she was disappointed to concede a “silly” goal against Jamaica, but remains confident the African champions will go on to beat Portugal Sunday.
The Nigeria women, who were without their top stars, lost 1-0 to Jamaica in a first-ever meeting Thursday in Texas.
“I wanted to blame myself (for the goal), I tried to be at my best but just a silly goal will come and mess everything up,” the Spain-based shot stopper lamented.
“I was not happy for the goal, but I did my best.
“The defence did well because they are new in the team, but with time we will get there.”
The Falcons focus is on their next game in the Summer Series against Portugal Sunday.
“We hope to correct our mistakes from the game against Jamaica, pick ourselves up and win against Portugal,” Oluehi said.
