David Okereke shone on his UEFA Champions League debut, but compatriot Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis was not so impressive as Club Brugge pipped Dinamo Kiev before a sold-out home ground.
Okereke, who has stood out for the Belgian club since his record transfer from Italy, was scored 7/10 by HLN for this match.
“Another good performance by the very complete striker. He was denied in the seventh minute by the goalkeeper,” rated the newspaper.
None of his teammates was rated higher than he.
Dennis, on the other hand, was scored an average 5/10 after he struggled upfront after doing his defensive work as a winger well.
The return leg will be played in Ukraine next week Tuesday.
