David Okereke has revealed he turned down a chance to join Southampton in the Premier League in England so as to join Club Brugge.
Okereke became the Belgian club’s most expensive signing after he cost them eight million Euros when he moved from Italian Serie B club Spezia.
The former Abuja Football College star also revealed that he received offers from several Serie A clubs.
He told Het Laatste Nieuws:
“US Sassuolo
kept calling. They were very specific. Although I still had options
in the Serie A with Cagliari and Brescia . ”
Okereke scored on his league debut for Club Brugge at Waasland-Beveren last
weekend.
