Several members of the NFF technical committee have told SCORENigeria they were given a free hand by the leadership of the football federation to finalise on the appointment of new coach for the Super Eagles.
The technical committee sat Thursday in Abuja to whittle down their choices of coaches to lead the Super Eagles following the exit of Jose Peseiro.
It has now recommended three coaches to be considered by the NFF executive committee.
“The NFF led by the president, Ibrahim Gusau, did not teleguide us, we were allowed to do our job as best as we could,” one of the members informed SCORENigeria
Another committee member told SCORENigeria that it was a robust meeting of members driven by the passion to give Nigeria a coach who will lead the country to success.
The eight-man committee took time to look at a short list of qualified coaches before it recommended to the NFF board to consider three coaches for the top position.
It was the same process used to appoint Manu Garba as Golden Eaglets coach.
