Cyriel Dessers has returned to Holland, where he was joint top scorer two seasons ago, to join Feyenoord.
Both clubs announced the striker has joined Feyenoord on loan from hometown club Genk, where he had been pushed down the pecking order with the arrival of Nigerian-born Ike Ugbo.
Feyenoord can make this loan deal permanent as they have agreed a purchase option as well.
Last season, Dessers, who made his Super Eagles debut against Tunisia last year, scored five goals.
His departure could well mean that Paul Onuachu will not make his big transfer as many expected after what he achieved last season.
