Four coaches have been short listed by the NFF technical committee to head the Super Eagles, officials have disclosed.
NFF technical committee member Victor Ikpeba said the coaches are Phillip Cocu, Laurent Blanc, Ernesto Valverde and Jose Peseiro.
Peseiro was previously designated as the new coach of the Super Eagles before contract negotiations broke down.
Former international Ikpeba said seven foreign coaches applied for the vacant position.
The NFF executive committee will appoint the new Super Eagles coach from this short list.
The team’s immediate assignments will be friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador next month in the USA after they failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
