Former Super Eagles forward Chinedu Obasi showed class with a goal on his debut for Austrian Bundesliga club Altach tonight in a confortable cup win.
Rheindorf Altach recorded a 3-1 win over Gurten in the Austrian Cup.
The former Schalke 04 ace increased his side’s lead in the 90th minute before team mate compounded the hosts’ woes in the third minute of the added time.
Obasi told SCORENigeria he was happy to score on his debut, but will look forward to repeating this feat in his first game in the league.
Altach are away to Austria Salzburg weekend and Obasi will be expected to make his league bow and possibly score.
“It’s all great for me to score in my first game for my new team,” he continued.
“Scoring in this game is good for my confidence going into the next game which will come good for me.”
Obasi, 34, has previously played in Germany, Norway and China.
