Anthony Nwakaeme has blamed the lack of “crazy” Trabzonspor fans no thanks to Coronavirus restrictions for a mediocre past season.
The striker said Trabzonspor fans have always been the driving force for the Turkish Super Lig.
“The past season in Turkey has been quite challenging. The problems brought by the pandemic played an important role in this,” he said.
“One of my most mediocre performances in Trabzonspor, too, was in the past season.
“As a team, we are very accustomed to playing with the support of the audience. Therefore, football without spectators is difficult for us. Frankly, it was boring to be like this, but due to my job, I had to face the conditions.”
He further said: “Turkish fans are football crazy and they make a difference. Trabzonspor fans are the best fans in the country.
“Playing in front of the fans at home is tremendous and our driving force.
“I missed them because there is no football without fans.”
