It therefore promises to be a most dramatic end to the 2025/2026 season.
“It has been a very competitive season,” remarked NPFL head of operations Davidson Owumi.
Two champions podium have been erected in Port Harcourt, where title challengers Rivers United welcome Katsina United, and Lagos, where league leaders Enugu Rangers battle Ikorodu City.
Rangers top the standings with 65 points from 37 matches, a point ahead of second-placed Rivers United.
However, Rivers United appear to have the easier task going into this final day of action as they will be playing at home against a team who have already secured their place in the top league, while Rangers will up against Ikorodu City, who will need to win to beat Shooting Stars to third place and a slot in the next CAF Confederation Cup.
Ikorodu City are locked with Southwest rivals Shooting Stars for third place.
They have 58 points, two points behind Shooting Stars, who face a rather tricky trip to Niger Tornadoes, who with 45 points have to win to stay up in the top flight.

Wolves will be up against Abia Warriors, while Tornadoes tackle Shooting Stars.
