Super Eagles fans can be rest assured that new coach Eric Chelle will not bow to pressure even from high places in his team selection.
A source close to the new Super Eagles coach told only SCORENigeria that Eric Chelle has maintained the highest professionalism when it comes to team call-ups and selection.
“He has made it very clear that he alone is in charge of the team, he invites the players and he picks those who will start for his team,” the source said.
“I remember in Mali he had a problem with one of the federation’s top officials because of this team selection and eventually his sack by the federation.”
He is also a very strict disciplinarian, the source added.
“Discipline is the watch word for Eric,” he said.
“All players have to adhere to camp rules, if you don’t you are fined.
“Camp discipline is priority and Eric is the task master.”
IF ERIC CHELLE BASED HIS INVITATION OF PLAYERS ON POTENTIAL, QUALITY & MERIT (without sentiment), THEN HE WILL DEFINITELY SUCCEED WITH SUPER EAGLE. BUT IF HE BASED HIS INVITATION OF PLAYERS ON IMPOSITION, EGO, SENIORITY, UNFIT EXPERIENCE PLAYER/LEADERSHIP/CAPTAINSHIP OR INVITE PLAYERS TO PLEASED/PACIFY SOMEBODY, THEN HE WILL FAIL WOEFULLY MORE THAN PAST COACHES.
** ERIC CHELLE SHOULD LEAVE OUT ANY UNFIT, INCONSISTENT, BENCHWARMER, IRRELEVANT, IRREGULAR PLAYERS IN SUPER EAGLE TEAM. HE SHOULD LEAVE OUT UNFIT EXPERIENCE PLAYERS/CAPTAIN/LEADER OUT OF SUPER EAGLE.
ERIC CHELLE SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYBODY (whether players or NFF) TO IMPOSE ANY PLAYERS ON HIM.
