Young Nigerian goalkeeper Chituru Odunze has joined Premier League side Leicester City from Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS.
The young goalkeeper, who is an U17 international with USA, will look forward to develop at the club youth level and then go on to play for the main team in nearest future.
Early in his youth days, Odunze spent three years in the Chelsea FC academy, then to Cardiff City FC and West Ham United.
The 16-year-old goalkeeper had a successful two-week trial at Leicester City earlier in the year and said he happy to join the Premier League side.
“It’s a dream come true to take the next step in my career at a big club like Leicester City FC,” said Odunze.
“I’m really grateful for everything that Vancouver Whitecaps FC have done for me. I would like to thank the coaches, staff, and my teammates for how they have helped me grow as a player, and especially Raegyn Hall and Jordan Santiago for coaching me as a goalkeeper.”
He is eligible to play for Nigeria, Canada and England.
