Football is doomed in Nigeria and must be rescued now!
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), whose President, Amaju Pinnick, was recently sacked by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), whose top officials have been Indicted by all the anti-graft agencies in Nigeria, whose top officials also have their properties seized by the pioneer anti-graft agency in Nigeria, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission.(ICPC).
This is the same top NFF officials, who have pending criminal proceeding in suit numbers FHC/ABJ/CR/93/2019 and CR/324/2018 before Hon. Justice Peter Affen and Justice Ifeoma Ojukwu.
This stinking stagnant water called the NFF is now calling a so-called Annual General Meeting (AGM), where nothing was mentioned in their agenda about the character, conduct and integrity of their leaders, who are alleged to have stolen Billions of Naira and are currently facing criminal prosecution.
What a shame!
THE LAME DUCK NFF CONGRESS
Who are these characters that make up the NFF congress?
With just 250,000 Naira each to the characters that constitute the NFF congress it will pass a vote of confidence on these already indicted NFF officials.
How can we make progress in this country by celebrating known thieves?
The NFF congress that is supposed to be the supreme authority in Nigeria football ironically kept a blind eye and deaf ears to the looting of its treasury and has had no courage to put in its agenda the questionable integrity of its leaders for deliberation in the so-called AGM for decisive action.
What a group of football administrators!
In the figment of the congress members’ Imagination they are living in the illusion after collecting gratifications that Amaju Pinnick and his gang will continue to run Nigeria football while undergoing criminal prosecution.
That is a big lie that will be strongly resisted.
THE SPORTS MINISTER HON. SUNDAY DARE
With due respect, the current Minister of Sports Hon. Sunday Dare is shielding corruption and has a standing alliance with Amaju Pinnick and his gang.
Dare since his appointment has grossly exhibited lack of capacity to move Nigeria football forward.
He has desecrated and breached his oath of office so soon by shielding corruption rather than fighting, which is the main thrust of the President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration.
He should resign if he has no capacity to reform Nigeria football, the nation’s No 1 sport.
His deliberate romance with the Pinnick-led board inspite of their travails is a slap on President Buhari’s administration that has zero tolerance for corruption.
Where is Abdulrasheed Maina? Where is Babachir Lawal? Where is Eyo Eta? Where is Mohammed Adoke and Dan Etete? Where is Deziani Allison Madueke? To mention just a few.
Dare is trivialising the fight against corruption and so he is not a fit and proper person to hold the esteemed office of the Minister of Sports for Nigeria.
