Brazil star Neymar will miss the team’s second group against Haiti Saturday.
Neymar, 34, missed the group stage opener against Morocco (1-1) due to an injury and now it is clear that he will also miss the upcoming match with Haiti, which will be played on Saturday night in Philadelphia, USA.
Globo reported that the Brazilian national team have confirmed that Neymar will instead stay in New Jersey to continue his recovery. The star is also said to be doubtful for the group stage match against Scotland on June 25.
Globo further reported that Brazil coaching staff does not want to rush Neymar into games, so he may instead be available for minutes on the field in the playoffs.
The 34-year-old has scored 79 goals in 128 senior internationals over the years.
