Newly-crowned CAF African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman has been left out of Atalanta squad for a Coppa Italia Round of 16 match against Serie B side Cesena.
Ademola Lookman was crowned as Africa’s No 1 star Monday in Marrakech, Morocco.
The winners of this Coppa Italia tie will battle fellow Serie A rivals Bologna in the quarterfinal in February.
Atalanta were beaten in last season’s Coppa Italia final.
They currently top the Serie A standings with 37 points from 16 matches, two points ahead of second-placed Napoli.
