It was another blistering individual performance for ‘The New Osimhen’ Samu Omorodion with FC Porto as he netted a hat-trick within 13 minutes to help his team to a 5-0 mauling of AVS FC.
He is now the second leading scorer in Portugal with seven goals.
Porto took the lead in the 22nd minute after through Nico Gonzalez, then Omorodion ran riot.
The striker, born to Nigerian parents in Spain, got on the end of a well-weighted cross from Martin Fernandes, which he struck perfectly for his first on the night.
Six minutes after, Fernandes found the 19-year-old Omorodion, who headed beautifully into the back of the net for his brace.
In the first minute of added time, he got on the end of a perfect through pass, as he ran through on goal and slotted past the goalkeeper for his hat-trick.
“The team played a good game, really. I’m proud of my numbers,” he said afterwards,
“I work hard for it, but I have to thank the team, without them it wouldn’t be possible.”
