Coach Ladan Bosso has been handed a target to qualify Bayelsa United to continental football.
Bayelsa State sports commissioner Daniel Igali tasked three-time Flying Eagles coach Bosso to get Bayelsa United to play in Africa by next year.
“You are an accomplished coach and we expect you to get us continental football next year,” Igali charged.
That would mean Bayelsa finish in Top 3 in the NPFL or win the President Federation Cup.
In his first stint with the Yenagoa club, Bosso guided them to finish third in the NPFL.
Last season, Bayelsa United only escaped relegation on the final day of the season courtesy of a win at Bendel Insurance.
