Leicester City have announced midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will not play again this season after he underwent a knee injury.
Ndidi suffered a knee injury during a UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16 clash at French club Rennes recently.
That caused him to miss the Super Eagles all-important World Cup playoffs against Ghana.
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said it was a shame Ndidi has been ruled out for the rest of the current season.
“He will be out for the rest of the season,” he said.
“It’s a shame for us, he will get ready for next season.
“It’s unfortunate because he has been a brilliant player for me in my time here (at Leicester City).
He picked up a nasty injury that had to have surgery on and he will recover in June.”
