Nasarawa United central midfielder Hamdala Mohammed will be expected to lead out the Flying Eagles Sunday afternoon against Cote d’Ivoire when they begin their U20 AFCON qualifying campaign in Porto Novo.
Hamdala has been penciled to start against the Ivorians, while substantive team captain and Abia Warriors goalkeeper Chibueze Lambert will most likely be on the bench for Crown FC shot stopper Kola Oladipo.
Right fullback Mike Zaruma is the second assistant captain of the team.
He will lead the Flying Eagles in the absence of both Lambert and Hamdala.
The Plateau United defender featured at the U20 AFCON in Niger only to miss the cut for the World Cup in Poland last year.
