After several delays and uncertainties, Napoli will officially present Victor Osimhen as their player today, according to various credible reports.
Osimhen’s transfer to the Serie A club has been a roller-coaster drama with many twists and turns, but it has finally been put to bed and Napoli will make the long-awaited announcement today.
It will be a five-year contract worth 50 million Euros plus add-ons, which makes him the most expensive Nigerian player ever.
The 21-year-old striker will earn about four million Euros a year.
He scored 18 goals in all competitions for Lille this past season after his arrival from Belgian club Sporting Charleroi.
German Bundesliga club Wolfsburg splashed four million Euros for Osimhen in 2016 when he finished as record top scorer at the 2015 U17 World Cup in Chile.
They offloaded him to Charleroi on loan before they sold him permanently for 3.5 million Euros.
Charleroi sold him for about 14 million Euros while inserting a sell-on clause of 15%, which means they will now get a share of the transfer fee Napoli will pay Lille.
