Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has said he will support the efforts of his club president to block Victor Osimhen and the team’s other African stars from featuring at the AFCON in Cameroon in January.
Italian media have already reported that efforts have been intensified by Napoli to exploit loop holes that will ensure their African stars like Osimhen, Khalidou Koulibaly and Zambo Anguissa stay away from the AFCON in January.
“President De Lurentiis is fighting on that front,” Spalletti said when asked what is being done not to release the players for the AFCON.
“I’m completely behind him.
“International fixtures do get in the way and there’s not much we can do.”
