SCORENigeria has specially gathered that the latest defensive crisis facing the Super Eagles in Austria could well see FC Nantes winger Moses Simon play at left back in tomorrow’s rematch against Cameroon.
Moses Simon was the brightest Nigeria star in the first game against the Indomitable Lions on Friday.
The winger worked hard both in defence and attack only for the Eagles to fall 1-0 in a game to prepare them for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September.
And now should Jamilu Collins fail to recover in time for the rematch tomorrow night, coach Gernot Rohr could deploy Moses Simon at left back.
The Nantes star has already played in that position for his former Spanish club UD Levante and Rohr has also tried him in that position in training previously.
The other option for the problematic left position, SCORENigeria further gathered, is for left-footed Valentine Ozornwafor to play there and not partner Chidozie Awaziem in the heart of the defence.
Rohr has also hinted on playing a three-man defence in a 3-5-2 formation, which he has also worked with.
