Moses Simon has told SCORENigeria that after making the final squad to the 2019 AFCON, the focus has now shifted to making the Super Eagles first team.
“It was not easy to make the final squad and now we will all be fighting to make the first team because we are all good,” he said.
“We will now fight for the positions in the team and it will be for the coach to decide.”
The UD Levante winger could well play in a new role of left wingback at the AFCON in Egypt going by the Eagles trainings in Asaba.
He played in that position for his La Liga club last season and he told SCORENigeria he is prepared to do same for his country.
“This is not my position, but if I am picked to play in this position to represent my fatherland, I will do my best to make everyone proud,” he assured.
The Super Eagles will have their first training in Ismailia today after they landed in Egypt last night.
They will play a final warm-up game against Senegal on Sunday, when coach Gernot Rohr is expected to show his hand as it concerns the formation and players he will employ at the AFCON.
