UD Levante winger Moses Simon is set to make the final cut to the AFCON, but as a left wingback with the Super Eagles, according to checks by SCORENigeria
Simon has already played this role for his La Liga club this past season and with coach Gernot Rohr now favouring a more offensive 3-5-2 formation than his usual 4-2-3-1 in Egypt, the former KAA Gent star has already booked his place on the flight to his first AFCON.
Rohr played Moses Simon in this new Eagles role in today’s training in Asaba and he appeared satisfied with how the player performed as he walked up to him after the session to further encourage him.
Moses Simon missed last year’s World Cup in Russia due to injury.
Besides his speed down the left flanks, he is also not shy to help out in the defence by tracking back if need be.
