Terem Moffi is interviewed by his new French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient after he signed a four-year contract from KV Belgian club Kortrijk.
The full interview:
Can you tell us about your characteristics and your player profile?
I am a fast, powerful and a composed player in front of the goal. I don’t rush in front of the goal to make the best decision because, like any striker, I like to score.
There are several forwards in the team. How do you see this competition?
I am not afraid of competition. It makes you stronger. You have to show the best of yourself to earn your place in the group.
You were playing in Belgium before. Do you think you will take a step forward by signing for a Ligue 1 club?
Yes, because I signed with a club playing in a European Top 5 championship. Unlike Belgium. For me, I am spending a great stage in my career by joining FC Lorient.
What can you tell us about your first days at FC Lorient?
I had a very warm welcome from the club and my teammates even if I was a little stressed when I arrived here.
What are your ambitions for this new season?
First of all, the club set a goal. Mine, at first, will be to help the FCL to win. Personally, I will try to score as many goals as possible. I have set a personal goal, but I keep it to myself.
Are you learning French?
Yes. I don’t speak it yet but I will learn it. Communication in football is very important. To communicate with my teammates on the field, I will have to learn it.
