Daryl Dike, who has emerged as one of the best strikers in the Major League Soccer (MLS), has said he is open to play for the Super Eagles after his older brother and sister represented Nigeria internationally.
The youngster, who has been linked with playing for the USA, has said he will leave his doors open as regards international football.
“It is dream of every professional soccer player to play for national teams, play international competitions and World Cup,” Daryl Dike said.
“My brother (Bright Dike) and sister (Courtney Dike) played for Nigeria.
“I might have the chance to play for Nigeria in future, but right now I am focusing on my career at Orlando City.
“I am open to playing for Nigeria and US National teams.”
Daryl Dike, who has been nominated for Young Player of the Year Award for the 2020 MLS season following his great performances for Orlando City with eight goals and four assists, is a Chelsea fan and models his game after that of Didier Drogba.
“I am a Chelsea fan while every other person in the house support Arsenal,” he said.
“My role model is Didier Drogba and also Lukaku. I admire the way they score goals.”
