Mikel Obi has maintained he will not be heading back to Turkish league leaders Trabzonspor even after that country’s league was finally suspended on account of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Mikel still has a year left on his contract with Trabzonspor, but walked out on them after he expressed his disappointment that the league was still playing despite growing fears on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
He posted on Instagram he was unhappy with the situation, the club asked him to take down the post but he refused before he terminated his contract.
“To go back to Trabzonspor? No chance,” he insisted in an interview.
“Not with the way they have dealt with the situation.
“I don’t see myself going back to Trabzonspor again.”
The former Super Eagles skipper has since reunited with his young family in London.
